HAPPY NEW YEAR from your Genesee Water and Sanitation District
The 2024 calendar year was successful for your District. The District completed its expansion of reservoir number 1 resulting in an additional 51 acre feet of water added to our storage system. In the second quarter of 2024 the District was the winner of the Colorado Water Taste Test, awarded by the Colorado Rural Water Association. District operations continued to exceed performance standards established for both water and sanitation services throughout the year.
For 2025 we are raising our water base rate $7 bimonthly and the sanitation base rate $1 bimonthly. Coupled with the usage fees which were not changed, our average customer will see their bimonthly bill increase by approximately 2.3%. This is our first increase in two years. The February billing will be the first to reflect the increase.
The cost of many goods and services the District utilizes in its operations have increased in cost to us necessitating this modest price increase. The District remains committed to minimizing increases while maintaining a high quality of both water and sanitation services for our customers.
